Heroes: One of Us, One of Them

Twenty minutes into season three’s second episode, I texted my friends that I loved the writers and wanted to have a million Heroes babies with them.  By the end, I think the number had increased to two million.  It’s clear there’s no slowing down Kring‘s third season, which has more heroes and more action.  Too much happened this week to touch on everything, but here’s this week’s rundown.

We kick off at the end of the premiere episode where Angela dropped the bomb that Sylar is Petrelli brother number three.  Can we say WTF mate?  This, early on, sets us up for a season of major family trust issues and an Oedipal complex.  Sylar is paired with Noah Bennet, and the two are enlisted to recapture the villains who escaped from Level Five.  The two are an awesome, albeit opposite, pair.  And though Noah doesn’t trust Sylar, in the end, it’s Sylar who saves him from the villains’ bank heist trap, but not before he adds one more power to his repertoire.

Nearby, Tracy Strauss tries her new ability by icing a flower.  Kudos to the writers for giving Ali Larter a new, intriguing storyline.  Niki was making me sleepy.  I’ll miss Micah and his sweet computer manipulation power.  Oh the shopping I’d do!  Tracy turns to Nathan, who leads her to Micah, who leads her to a doctor who delivered her and Niki on the same day, in the same hospital.  The doc also calls her Barbara and reveals that he created her.  Hold the phone!  What?  I’m happy we saw Micah one last time.  It’s obvious he’s not going to stop growing anytime soon, so bye cute kid.

Elsewhere in Heroes-verse:

Claire spends the episode confronting her true reasons for wanting to fight baddies.  After skipping school with her biological mother Meredith, she confesses (under duress!) that she wants to punish Sylar for stripping her of her humanity.  And so she drives off with a box of Primatech files to exact baddie revenge.

Hiro and Ando chase Daphne to intercept the trade of the formula.  They arrive too late, and after a tussle with the Haitian, where it seems they finally have the upper hand again, Daphne zips in and steals the formula for the third time!  I love that Hiro’s storylines always have the most “comic book” feel.  I believe that’s because he’s the only one who truly accepts destiny and good vs. evil.  I just hope this doesn’t get old fast.

Parkman’s still figuring out what his destiny is with the help of his African guide.  I love this Isaac 2.0.  His paintings are more tribal, but I always thought they squandered Isaac’s powers by killing him.

Peter is removed from Jesse‘s body by future Peter during the bank heist.  Where and when did he get that power?!  He warns him that the future in is serious trouble and teleports him to see for himself.

Is your head spinning like mine?  Can’t wait for next week!
