True Blood: Beyond the Grave

I’m not even going to waste your time with all the redundant scenes of Sookie going back and forth, trying to figure out if Bill was, indeed, the fourth unidentified body in the vampire burning massacre.  Obviously, we hope Bill, a very significant character, would not be killed off so easily or so soon.  And good thing for the viewers like me who enjoy watching him, Bill was not the fourth body and is quite alive.  Ironically, he survived by not going over to Liam, Diane, and Malcolm’s nest but by hiding in his grave.  Sookie, going crazy over the possibility that Bill might be dead, cleans her house and decides to take flowers he gave her to his grave.  There, a hand shoots up from the soil and grabs her leg.  She tries to run, but stops when she realizes it’s Bill, calling her name.  He is naked and covered in soil, but that doesn’t stop the two from getting down and dirty right there.  He goes to bite her again, but she tells him not on the neck.  It turns out the fourth body was Neil, coronary assistant by day and fang banger by night.

For once, Jason has enjoyed spending the night with a woman he didn’t have sex with, but only because he was too busy enjoying the effects of V with Amy, his newfound friend.  Tara stares on in awe as her sober and de-demonized mother runs around the house doing motherly things like cooking and cleaning.  At Merlotte’s Terry asks Sam why he saw him running through the woods earlier.  Sam denies it.  Later, an ecstatic Sookie comes in to work, assuring everyone that Bill is quite alive.  Arlene takes advantage of Sookie’s good mood by asking her to babysit her kids so she and Rene can go to a concert.

Arlene is shocked to find Bill standing in Sookie’s doorway when she comes to drop off the kids.  But I guess she is more desperate to pass her kids off to someone else for the night, even if a vampire will be around.  Bill and Sookie enjoy entertaining Arlene’s kids, and Sookie takes note of Bill’s domestic skills.  While out, Rene pretends to have a flat tire, pulls off to the side of the road, and asks Arlene to marry him.  When Arlene returns to Sookie’s, she could care less that her kids are in one piece as she and Sookie dance around about the exciting news.

Jason soon discovers Amy is not as sweet as she seems, when she concocts a plan to kidnap one of Lafayette’s vampire johns for his V.  Bill and Sookie’s domestic bliss is fleeting, when Eric soon commands Bill to bring Sookie to his club so he can find out which of his employees has been stealing from him.  When Sookie discovers the thief is actually Longshadow, he flies at her with fangs that are ready to kill.

Season 1, Episode 8: The Fourth Man in the Fire (originally aired October 26, 2008)
