Real Housewives of Atlanta:Reunion part 2 – Why Bother?

I think the Real Housewives of Atlanta took the title of Kandi’s song about flying above all the drama a little too seriously on the conclusion of the reunion special…especially since they all seemed to be damn near sedated. *Yawn*
In a season that was filled with name calling, cat fights, hair pulling and general suburban mayhem, did they really think they could get away with sitting there politely with their hands in their laps and not saying anything mean to each other? Boo, what a cop out. Poor Andy Cohen, he tried so hard to get them to mud sling and rehash the drama, and every time he asked a question all they gave him was silence and the sound of crickets. Heck, even when Kim denied the accusations that she made out with random sidewalk guy after her atomic throw down with Sheree, and smugly said “if you have it on tape, roll it” AND THEY DID, she STILL didn’t admit it. Um, am I the only one that thinks she looked straight crazy for doing that? Well, at least Andy seemed as stunned as I was. Other than that, Kim refused to dish any real dirt about herself. She didn’t, however, have any problem throwing Dwight under the bus and blurting out that he had undergone some, ahem…male enhancement procedures himself. Dwight happily confirmed it, though, and good for him – at least someone on that set wasn’t afraid of the truth.
Dwight actually got into it a bit with Lisa about his criticisms of her “clothing line” Closet Freak, and she ended the conversation with the oh-so-second-grade threat that she just wasn’t going to invite him to the next show. I’m sure Dwight is all broken up about that, maybe the other ladies should’ve insulted her too so they wouldn’t have to go to the next one either.
Then, NeNe smugly denied lying about her stripper past saying she artfully chose her words when asked last season point blank if she had been a stripper. Naturally at that point, focus shifted to Kim and everyone expected her to air her dirty laundry too. Instead, said she wasn’t going to confess to any stripping either, she was merely a waitress at a strip club – not an actual stripper – duh, get it right, people.
Oh, and I think Sheree was there, too, but she didn’t actually say anything.
In perhaps the most ridiculous part of the reunion special, this year they apparently decided to emulate American Idol (A-T-L style, of course) and ended the show with two performances. Notice I didn’t say “live” performances, because while Kandi actually sung her song, Kim just attempted to sing over a backing track while her dancers attempted to distract all of us from Kim’s train wreck vocals with their choreography. It didn’t work. You have to hand it to Kim, though; she got up there, hooker boots and all, and played along for the cameras. Kandi, on the other hand, killed it and listening to her dedicate her performance to AJ was very heartfelt and genuine….
Then it was back to the BS when Andy asked everyone what they thought of Kim’s performance and they all sat there like overly glam’d up statues and stated through strained lips that it was fun, and they “liked the beat.” GROAN. Is that the best you can do? You know you were all thinking that without Kandi’s production magic Kim shouldn’t even be allowed to have vocal cords, let alone showcase them.
Whatever, that was the theme of the episode though, dignified hypocrisy. I look forward to seeing if next season they can bring it – or if they’ll all be so busy with their side projects that the real fabric of what makes the Atlanta cast so fun will have disintegrated completely. At the very least, they should be working on getting the fabulously gay and flamboyant men on this show their own spinoff. Until then, you can catch all of the reunion highlights on the Real Housewives of Atlanta website, or keep it here for more pop culture reviews on Poptimal.com.

I think the show was sad and oh so fake and it should not have aired. It was ridiculous to think that all by gones are by gones and that they are oh so forgiving…bull.
Fake is the name that comes to mind when I think of the reunion and I could have been something better with my time instead of watching that no drama …drama.
What was the purpose? If they are able to forgive and forget so easily then why not share how they arrived at that point so that we all can learn that tool or pray for whatever they have or did.
They where unwilling to talk about anything…which wasnt fair to the fans that have followed them to the end. Just as the fans grew, they can diminish.
Kim is that girl in life that is a joke to all she is around. She lies and looks foolish when she expresses her views in life. I pray that her daughters are spared and grow up to be nothing like her.
You do give women a bad name when you think it is ok to cheat with a married man and when he marries you if he does marry you, remember that when that other woman is sleeping with Big Poppa. Dont get mad because its ok and she is not a mistress. Sharing is caring. You souond shallow and have low self esteem and it is obvious in the way you carry yourself, the way you speak and the way you constantly try to convince yourself you look good.
That is not neccessary when you are beautiful inside and out.
I again think that the women where being fake and thats the thing that I didnt like and that made me turn the t.v.
way to go Dwight
I finally saw the entire Finale part 2…..
Lisa could not open her mouth for part 1 or 2…until Dwight came out..obviously she was either on something or have selective amnesia..She goes on and on about it “not being a fashion show (play of words as Dwight said), but she called it a fashion show during the episode(s)…She said Dwight should not have said anything about the show, but instead should have done so at another time and place…after the fashion show was over, Lisa specifically asked Dwight what he thought of the show (Roll tape!!!) …Dwight said to Lisa on finale part 2, Nene asked me what I thought…Lisa’s less than intelligent response made absolutely no sense what so ever. Dwight handled himself with Lisa and Kim very well!!! at the end of the day in my opinion Lisa does not add anything to the show…you guys could have left DeShawn Snow on, at least there would have been something to laugh about or wonder when she would make her next misstep in planning events.
