RuPaul’s Drag Race: Season 2 Cattle Call

Well, heifers, we’re back and blessed with Season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the Masterpiece Theater of cable television.  The first episode of the new season does not premiere until February 1, but I thought it’d make sense to introduce ourselves to these twelve spring roses in preparation for the premiere.  Think of this as a cotillion with tucking.

Jessica Wild.  According to Logo, Ms. Wild is a “spitfire with a heart of gold,” who will battle language issues (she is Puertorriqueña).  I’ll be generous: she looks like a younger, slightly-less-masculine Cher.

Jujubee. I just keep thinking Ongina with hair, but I l-o-v-e that name!

Morgan McMichaels. She’s from Scotland, but, in the video, I keep getting the same vibe:  Sharon Stone in Casino after she’s unwisely cut her hair short.

Mystique Summers Madison. Oh yes, give it up for the big girl!  Here’s some more action of Ms. Madison.  I wish that sexy gal following Ms. Summers Madison was a contestant, too!

Nicole Paige Brooks. Could be a young Mama.  She’s got a good wig, though.

Pandora Boxx. The Sophia Petrillo of these girls, Ms. Boxx is a decrepit 37 years old.  Nothing about her revs my engine.

Raven. This one is going to be the hottest of messes:  she thinks people don’t talk to her because she’s “too good looking,” both as a man and a woman.  Child, please.  People don’t talk to you because you are obnoxious.

Sahara Davenport. I love that this one describes herself as “a productive male by day.”

Shangela Laquifa Wadley. I am already done with this one, based solely on her name.

Sonique. Girl, I LOVE your song from 1998, “Feels So Good”!

Tatianna. She’s pretty, and I am tickled that, according to the video, she is best known for her “exciting spirit.”

Tyra Sanchez. Ladies, I think this one will be my favorite.  Wait . . . does that video say that she has a son?!?!

There they are, friends!  One of these dozen will be America’s Next Drag Superstar.  So pull up your pantyhose, glue on those upper lashes, and make an extra stop at Ann’s for a backup set of press-on nails because Season 2 starts on February 1 on Logo!!!
