Jersey Shore Review: The Snooki Sob Show
I’m getting sick and tired of seeing Snooki cry. No, not because it breaks my heart. I feel like all she’s been doing this season is whine whine whine and cry cry cry over this boyfriend of hers. My dear, get over it. No guy is worth that much trouble, as far as I’m concerned. Your drama is bringing everyone else down and making me b-o-r-e-d.
If anything, this episode of Jersey Shore proved just how much of a brat Snooki is. She’s funny and good entertainment value, but she clearly can’t accept the truth. She only wants people to tell her what she wants to hear, and my respect for Jenni shot up a lot in this hour. I don’t know how Jenni does it, frankly. She’s far too mature for these goons. And I mean mature in personality, though I agree her face looks aged as hell for a 25 year old.
Trying for a bit of normalcy, the boys go visit Vinny’s family in Sicily. We don’t really see much of this trip except for a parade of relatives and a lot of food going around. Vinny keeps saying he will “remember this for the rest of my life,” and we’re just going to have to take his word for it because the audience didn’t see anything memorable about it at all. But good on Vinny for reconnecting with his extended family; I’ve always shown a bit of a soft spot for him.
The reason we didn’t see much of the boys’ Sicilian trip is because the cameras were too busy focusing on the drama between the girls, who decide to take a wine tasting tour in Tuscany. Tensions rise when all Snooki wants to talk about is Jionni. Even though Snooki originally said she was through with Jionni and then proceeded to hook up with Vinny, she’s apparently having second thoughts about the break-up. Get.over.it! While the girls try to reason with the Snookster, she angrily storms off drunkenly back to the bus. And by episode’s end, she’s managed to get Jionni to give her a second chance. Sigh.
And I suppose I must talk a bit about Mike “The Situation,” who was up to his dirty tricks this episode. He basically planted a lie in the house to see who would rat first. The answer: Sammi. Not that anyone’s surprised. But when Snooki gets wind of Mike’s fake lie, she goes ballistic and starts throwing anything and everything at him. Mike must have had some practice with this, because he’s pretty good at dodging everything, including the wine bottle.
