True Blood Review: Season Finale Thud

It’s the end of another crazy season on True Blood and this had to be my least favorite episode. Why? The predictable outcome of Sookie choosing neither Eric of Bill, leaving this triangle yet still a triangle for another season to come. But let’s check out the body count for this season finale first. First there is Jesus, who is forced by Marnie/Lafayette to give up his demon powers or else he could kill Lafayette. She then kills him.

Marnie continues to her descent into power hungry madness that we got a glimpse of last episode as she kills Casey, one of the humans trapped at Moon Goddess Emporium. Antonia wants nothing to do with her anymore but Marnie binds the spirit to her, unwilling to let go of the mega-witch powers she has as the entity known as Martonia. Not much changes though as the vampires try to negotiate for Sookie’s release by Bill and Eric killing each other in exchange.

True Blood Review: The Sheriff Is Back In Town

Sookie (Anna Paquin) arrives in time to save King Bill (Stephen Moyer) as she erupts in a fury of lightning targeted at Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), who was still under Martonia’s (Fiona Shaw) control and about to kill Bill. She outs herself to Nan Flannigan as being more than just a waitress but it does sever the control the witch had on the sheriff and he regains his memory. The look he gives Sookie after realizing everything that’s happened…oh my heart did little flips of joy.
